Pianos, painted by local artists, will be placed in public locations during the Festival. They will be available for everyone to play. On weekends there will be special music events with the participation of young and professional musicians.

Inspired by the world-famous and successful projects "Play me, I'm yours" and "Sing for Hope", “KharkivMusicFest” presents its own project “Art&Piano: грай яскраво”. On March 15-29, 9 pianos donated by volunteers and painted by local artists and designers will be placed in popular locations of Kharkiv. On March 14 all these instruments will be played at the Kharkiv Lysenko National Opera and Ballet Theatre during the official opening ceremony of the project. After that all of the pianos will be transferred to various locations popular among Kharkiv residents and will be available for everyone to play them. Each of the instruments will become a work of art and will allow the Kharkovites to get to know talented artists of the region. After the end of the Festival the instruments will be donated to children and cultural institutions.

The implementation of the project "Art&Piano: грай яскраво" is performed by the Public Organization “Day of Music”.

Public organization «Day of Music» is the Ukrainian non-governmental organization that makes changes on the boundary between culture, education, history and civic activism, using the culture and social management as the instrument of democracy development and efficient interaction with various target groups. Our projects included “Day of one street” (2015-2016), “Day of music” (2014-2016), “Night of Kharkiv history”, “Evenings of Kharkiv history”, “Day of classical music”, “Urban Park together”, “Map of museums of Kharkiv” and others. In 2016 we have created Social Activity Hub “Studio 42” for public activists and public organizations working for the purpose of improving life in Kharkiv and Ukraine. It represents a platform for interaction and development of social initiatives, place for work, study, recreation and creativity. The activity of the social hub is mainly focused on public sector development. Public organization “Day of Music” activity includes informal education, development of social activities, coordination efforts for public organizations, development of partnership networks, development of culture and arts, environmental protection. Our target groups include veterans of the antiterrorist operation (ATO) and their families, temporarily displaced persons, aged people, people with special needs, vulnerable families, children, teenagers and youth, state and local authorities, local communities, activists, social organizations and institutions.

Public organization «Day of Music» supported «Art&Piano: грай яскраво» project because this idea is unique, bright and tasty like a multi-layered pie. This project presents talented artists and gifted piano players to Kharkiv residents and guests of our city, and, most importantly, helps Kharkiv to “sound” in the most unexpected places – the deepest underground station, the hall of the central railway station and the airport. Although, classical music has already been performed in these locations, our project is different in the fact that the musical repertoire is selected not by the professional musicians, but by the common people, i.e. practically everyone will be able to show his or her creativity.
